In a press conference authorities said baby Shannon Dedrick was found inside a closed cedar chest underneath her aunt's bed for nearly 12 hours. Susan Baker, happens to be the aunt, and the babysitter.

Sheriff Bobby Haddock said after Shannon was found, she was rushed to Northwest Florida Community Hospital, where she was examined by local doctors. Shannon is currently at the hospital and in good condition.

Shannon’s mother Chrystina Lynn Mercer and Susan Baker met Friday October 30. Susan asked Chrystina if she could permanently take custody of Shannon, which Susan agreed to do so. They then met at 1:30 a.m. on October 31 at Chrystina's home in Chipley. Susan then took custody of Shannon on October 31 sometime around 1:30 a.m.

Mercer and Baker are both being charged in the case, as of right now we do not know the charges of James Baker at this time.

Mercer is charged with:
-Interference with child custody, 3rd degree felony
-Desertion of child, 3rd degree felony
-False report of missing child, 1st degree Misdemeanor
-False report of crime, 1st degree Misdemeanor
-Contributing to the delinquency of a missing child, 1st degree Misdemeanor

Baker is charged with:
-Neglect of child under Aggravated circumstances, 2nd Degree Felony
-Interference with child custody, 3rd degree felony
-False report of missing child, 1st degree Misdemeanor
-False report of crime, 1st degree Misdemeanor
