Hurlburt Testing Prototype Air Force Field Uniforms

The new blue, green and gray tiger-stripe fatigues are intended for utility use and rarely would be worn in combat.

The uniform would replace Army-style forest camouflage uniforms with green, tan and black splotches now worn by Air Force ground personnel.

The Hurlburt troops are among about 300 airmen at nine bases wearing the test clothing through November.

The chemically treated nylon and cotton blend doesn't need starching and ironing.

The uniform is topped with a Marine Corps style eight-sided cap and boots that never need shining.
