New Job for Top Local Air Force General

Brigadier General Larry New will relocate to Greece this summer as principle adviser to the commander of NATO and Southern Region Air Issues.

The Air Force Thursday announced Colonel Jack Egginton, a brigadier general-select currently serving as commander of the 379th Air Expeditionary Wing in Qatar, will be his replacement.

New took over operations at Tyndall in July 2002. He will now be based out of Larissa, Greece. In his new position, New's official title will be Deputy Commander, Combined Air Operations Center 7, Air South, Strategic Command Europe, NATO.
