Panama City- After deliberating until 12:30 Wednesday morning, the jury in the Amy Cooper cocaine conspiracy case has not yet reached a verdict.

As you may recall Cooper is facing one count of using a phone to facilitate a drug transaction between her boyfriend, Dr. Michael Reed and Hector Malera. She is the last of the 8 defendants and the only one who chose a trial over accepting a plea deal.

The jury recieved the case at 3PM Tuesday. At one point they told Richard Judge Smoak that they could not reach a unanimous verdict. But at the urging of the US attorney, the judge sent them back into the jury room to continue.

At 9:30 they presented the court with a question regarding the wording of the statute in question. The judge gave them additional instructions and they resumed deliberations.

It was at 12:30AM that Judge Smoak received a note from the jury asking that they be allowed to break for the evening since one of the jurors is diabetic and needed to take her medication.

The jury will resume deliberations at 1PM Wednesday.
