Panama City Beach- Even though the election is still 5 months away, a Panama City Beach man announced Wednesday night he is running for a seat on the Panama City Beach City Council. John Reichard made his candidacy official during an announcement party at the Boatyard Restaurant. Dozens of people came out to support him.
Reichard is the first in the Panama City Beach municipal election to announce he is running in the April 20, 2010, Super Tuesday election. "I just want to be apart of the opportunities and the challenges facing the Beach in the next coming years; to make sure that the CRA coming down Front Beach happens and is completed and revitalizes our visitor corridors. I also want to be apart of limiting the building heights along Back Beach Road so that we don't threaten our future neighborhoods and our current neighborhoods."
Reichard is running for the seat in Ward # 1 which is currently held by Jeff Ferguson. He has been in office for 4 years.
