Bonifay Police need your help in locating the rightful owners of some stolen property.
A resident found the items in a wooded area behind his apartment complex two weeks ago.
The three truckloads are an assorted mix of old and new items.
About 25 bicycles, two lawnmowers, two TVs, an ironing board and many others, all sitting in this storage unit now.
A resident at the Foxrun apartment complex in Bonifay found all of it two weeks ago.
"I was just walking around and I seen something shining and I said 'well, that looks like an air compressor. I said, I'm gonna check that out.' I walked on down there and sure enough it was and I began to see other stuff down there," says William Steverson.
"We recovered a fairly nice, fairly new air compressor, a stand-up, upright battery charger with wheels. Those are the two big electrical items."
Bonifay Police Chief Chris Wells says they also found bicycle parts.
"like tires, chains, sprockets..."
...as well as some odds-and-end furniture pieces, like this wheelbarrow.
"It looks like it come out of a storage shed or possibly someone's barn."
"It was directly behind these apartments where a resident found the stolen property. However, Bonifay Police say no one seems to know who put it there."
"We haven't been able to find any witnesses, we canvassed the neighborhood, talked with several people.."
But so far no one has come forward with any information.
Wells doesn't believe the stolen property has been there very long.
"There was no spiderwebs, no buildup of leaves or anything. It was just there."
He also says no one in the city or Holmes County has filed a theft report to match the list of items.
"Crime knows no boundaries when it comes to stuff like this so we have contacted neighboring agencies, contacted Graceville PD, Chipley PD, Washington SO, Jackson SO...but so far we haven't had any luck."
If you have any information on this case, please contact Bonifay Police at (850)-547-3661.
