Mowat Middle School in Lynn Haven is celebrating it's 50th anniversary with the grand opening of a new gymnasium.
Three members of the Mowat family cut the ribbon Friday morning, officially opening the facility. Students, school board members and former principals were all in attendance.
The student body received a history lesson of sorts, former principals Walter Ford and Ernest SWpiva shared stories about past students and teachers.
Administrators say the new gym, with all of its up to date equipment, will improve physical education programs at Mowat.
