When the Bay County commission voted last week to keep Bay Medical center off a list to receive money from a proposed one-cent sales tax, one objection was that the hospital didn't try to gain the support of area cities.

Now the hospital is doing just that. Hospital representatives spoke to commissioners in the cities of Lynn Haven, Panama City, and Callaway Tuesday to ask for their support in receiving money from the tax. Bay Medical Representatives also asked the cities if they would give a portion of the money they would receive from the tax to the hospital.

All three cities voted to send a resolution to the county commission in favor of supporting Bay Medical Center as one of the recipients of the proposed one-cent sales tax, but against giving the hospital a share of their cut of the tax.
