A week after Callaway's new mayor, Ken Meer, took office a resident of the city has brought forth a complaint regarding a letter sent to voters about former Mayor, Ray Boevink
The letter includes a divorce application filed back in 1995 by Boevink's wife.
The issue has since been cleared up and the former mayor and his wife are still married.
However, Callaway resident, Bets, says the letter is a form of defamation and violates election laws.
Callaway's new mayor, Ken Meer, denies any involvement in sending the letter.
Now he and the rest of the city's commissioners voted to have the city attorney file a formal complaint with the elections office to find out who did send the letter.
