Members from Panama City Beach churches came together at Gulf Beach Baptist Church to sponsor a Thanksgiving service Sunday night. They accepted offerings that would go towards helping people on the beach with necessities, like food and clothing.

They also wanted to reflect and gather for fellowship in Christ. NewsChannel 7's Neysa Wilkins provided a testimony and sang to the crowd.

Organizers say tonight's service is about providing to the needy in this tough economy, especially with the holidays around the corner

Deacon chairman Phillip Chester says, "It's important, I think it shows our community unity in our community for the work of Christ and the Lord here on the beach."

The host church changes every year.
