Sacred Heart Hospital on the Gulf is still under construction. Gulf County Chamber of Commerce officials say it is slated to open in March 2010.
Clinical and non-clinical positions are currently available, including jobs in emergency services, medical records and education.
Officials say providing jobs in the health services industry will benefit the local economy. It may attract retirees to Port St. Joe, and officials are banking on it boosting the tourism and service sectors.
Sandra Chafin, executive director at the Gulf County Chamber of Commerce, says, "It draws people from the rural areas into the community for health care services. It may even attract visitors to the area."
All interested applicants are encouraged to attend Sacred Heart's Career and Volunteer Fair on Saturday, December 5. It kicks off at 10:00 at the Gulf/Franklin Center in Port St. Joe.
