Newly released figures this week show 272 existing homes were sold here last month. That's an 80 percent increase over March of 2003.
The average sale price was a little more than $146,000. This is a 13 percent increase over the $129,000 selling price for an existing home in March of last year.
Low interest rates and the discovery of the Panama City area as a prime location for real estate investment helped fuel the gains.
