Local Baby's Death Case Still Pending In Bay County Court
The mother of a baby found dead in Parker last month went before Circuit Judge Don Sirmons Thursday.

11/25/09--The Clearwater woman, who's baby was found dead in a Parker motel last month went before Judge Don Sirmons Thursday. Parker Police arrested 31-year-old Carrie West at the La Brisa Inn on Highway 98 after they found her baby dead inside her motel room.

West is charged with possession of Oxycodone with the intent to sell/distribute and tampering with physical evidence. According to Parker Detectives, the narcotics investigation is still ongoing. At this point, West has not been charged in-connection with the child's death, however, the death investigation is still ongoing, pending the child's autopsy results. West will be back for pretrial on January 13th, 2010.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------10/13/09---A Sarasota woman is being held in the bay county jail tonight on 20-thousand dollars bond.

Parker Police arrested 31-year-old Carrie l. West at the La Brisa Inn on East Business 98. They originally answered a call regarding a child in one of the rooms. Inside authorities said they found West's three-month old baby dead. Reports indicate police also found illegal drugs. West is charged with possession of Oxycodone with the intent to distribute and tampering with physical evidence, however, she has not been charged in the child's death. The medical examiner is performing an autopsy to determine how the baby died.
