Four Area Traffic Fatalities in as Many Days

Florida Highway Patrol troopers say 47-year-old Phyllis Goodwin was heading south on County Road 284 when she lost control of her car.

The vehicle spun off the road and hit a tree broadside on the passenger side door. Goodwin's passenger, 44-year-old Joanne Friedman of Southport, was killed by the impact.

Troopers say the crash was alcohol related and charges against Ms. Goodwin are pending.

The death is the fourth in the last four days in this area. Two people were killed in a crash on Interstate 10 near Crestview on Sunday and a Port St. Joe woman was killed Monday morning in a crash in Callaway.
