An overnight fire destroyed a mobile home in Defuniak Springs, killing the man who was sleeping inside.

Walton County sheriff investigators are waiting for dental records to confirm the man's identity, but they believe he was the homeowner, 37-year-old Ricky Marlow.

Marlow's Kennemor Drive neighbors noticed the fire around 11:00 Tuesday night and called authorities. Fire investigators think a cigarette set off the fire.

"The assumption is right now is that the person who is deceased possibly fell asleep, possibly was smoking and possibly that's what caused the fire," says Walton County Sheriff Ralph Johnson.

State fire marshal's investigators used an arson dog to search for possible clues. They say they did not find anything suspicious.
