Authorities say Tony Vitiello had been holed up since about 7:30 Wednesday night at his home in Milton.
They say he shot a deputy he lured to his home in what officials call “an ambush.”
Deputies had surrounded the house all night. They found Vitiello's body in the home Thursday morning.
Authorities say Deputy Roman Jackson was shot from the residence near the Moors Golf Club, but they say the injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.
