Updated: Thu 3:52 PM, May 13, 2004

An "ASA" flight from Atlanta was enroute to Panama City when the pilot reported smoke in the cockpit around 10:30 a.m.

Airline officials say the commuter plane diverted and landed at the Dothan, Alabama regional airport.

Firefighters examined the aircraft but found no problems

Some 60 passengers from the plane were transferred to a charter bus to complete their journey to Panama City.

An ASA airline official says the aircraft will get a complete checkup before it’s allowed back in service.
