Bay County commissioners re-appointed Marty McDaniel and Yonnie Patronis to the Tourist Development Council Tuesday morning for additional four-year terms. Commissioner Mike Nelson will stay on as the county representative.
Bay County's TDC played a large role in attracting Southwest Airlines by allocating millions of dollars from the fifth cent of bed tax revenue to marketing the low-cost air carrier.
Commissioners say they are satisfied with the current board's efforts: "This has been a great year for Bay County and a lot of that's come through the help of the TDC. We appreciate the job they've done and it's just our way of thanking them, hope they continue to do a good job," said commissioner MIke Thomas.
Commissioners also confirmed Panama City Beach's three appointees to the TDC. Mayor Gayle Oberst, Gary Walsingham and Rick Russell will each serve another four-year term.
