Marianna High School will be looking for a new band director. Current director Jamie Standland has resigned.
Jackson County school superintendent Danny Sims confirmed the school district has been investigating complaints against Jamie Standland, but Sims would not reveal the nature of the allegations. He also confirmed a student was also being investigated.
Standland resigned last Thursday, the day after Sims says he approached him and his principal about the allegations.
"We're going to investigate. This thing will be handled correctly and if there's a need to handle this criminally, we will, but I don't think that's the case," says Superintendent Danny Sims.
Standland was not available for comment on this story.
