PANAMA CITY-The sluggish economy along with the Cash for Clunkers program offered this summer seems to be causing a local charity trouble.
For the last two years a local church along with two body shops have been holding a Christmas time charity called the 12 Cars of Christmas.
What they do is have the cars donated.
Then they redistribute them to needy families and folks who have no transportation.
One of the organizers for the 12 Cars of Christmas says the poor economy combined with the Cash for Clunkers program is making the collection of cars extra difficult this year.
"The Cash for Clunkers program has seemed to take many of the autos out of the inventory that we would have been able to give away," say Dave Loyd with Cross Bridge Church.
If you would like to donate a car to the 12 Cars of Christmas than give Loyd a call, (850) 867-0540.

I've always had a problem with Cash4Clunkers. To me it seems to go against simple supply and demand economics. How can we push all of these new cars into a market already saturated with used and repossessed vehicles (i.e. www.Repofinder.com)? Now new cars are worth even less, we have more Americans in debt, and eventually more repossessions.
