Gov. Jeb Bush has appointed Dr. Charles Siebert, Jr. as the permanent Medical Examiner for the six county area of the 14th Judicial Circuit.
Dr. Siebert is one of the people who have been serving as the acting M.E. since Dr. E. Hunt Scheuerman resigned a year and a half ago.
Siebert's term begins July 1 and runs through June 2007.
The Medical Examiner performs autopsies and forensic pathology work, assisting the law enforcement and prosecutors with their investigations.
The 14th Judicial Circuit covers six Panhandle counties, including Bay County.
