He's charged with illegally supplying thousands of doses of the painkillers Oxycontin and Xanax to drug addicts.
The 96-count federal indictment also accuses him of Medicaid and insurance fraud.
Dr. Williams was arrested six months after officers raided his Panama City office.
If convicted he faces a minimum 20 year prison sentence. The trial is expected to last three weeks.
