This past weekend, Blountstown Officer Edward Dalton was called to investigate a loud music complaint on South East Janet Street.
When he got their 36-year-old Mark Anthony French started struggling with the officer. Dalton used his Taser, but French got a hold of a gun and started shooting.
Both Dalton and fellow officer Rodney Smith returned the fire, hitting French in the leg.
He was taken to an area hospital for treatment. He has since been released and was arrested on a variety of charges by Blountstown police.
