Change of Command at the Local Navy Base

Captain Vito Jimenez relieved Captain Anthony Alfred Shutt Thursday to become the 28th commanding officer of NSWCPC.

Captain Jimenez has a long history of service with the Navy. In 1978, he completed Aviation Officer Candidate School with honors and received his commission in July of 1979 in Pensacola.

Jimenez came to Panama City in 1994 as an Officer in Charge of the Aviation Unit at the local Navy Base.

Captain Shutt, who took command of Coastal Systems Station in 2001 will be retiring from the Navy after a career of 30 years, and will make his home in Lynn Haven.
