The case began in April 2002, when undercover Walton County sheriff's deputies bought 30 pounds of pot from a suspect.
They then were able to identify at least two different drug organizations, operating between Austin, Texas and the Panhandle.
Twenty two people have been convicted, or pled guilty to state or federal drug charges as part of the investigation.
Police have seized about 270 pounds of pot and broken-up both marijuana distribution rings here and in Texas.
Local, federal and state agencies from Florida, Mississippi and Texas had a hand in the case, which is continuing.
