Two Deadly Accidents on Walton County Roads

The most recent happened around 3:30 Wednesday afternoon on I-10 near Defuniak Springs. State troopers say a 38-year-old Hispanic man lost control of his car when his left rear tire blew out.

The man's car ran off the road and slammed into a tree, killing him instantly. The Florida Highway Patrol is still investigating.

The other crash happened about noon Wednesday on Highway 98 in South Walton. Troopers say 63-year-old James Lynch of Destin died when he drove his car across two lanes of traffic and into some woods near inlet beach.

Paramedics took Lynch was to Sacred Heart Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Investigators believe Lynch had a medical condition that caused the wreck.
