The stakes just got higher in the search for the people responsible in the beating death of a Panama City Beach teenager.

Seventeen-year-old Jeffrey Shane Elliot was severely beaten near a boat ramp on south lagoon drive last Wednesday. He died two days later.

Now his family is raising reward money for anyone with any information about Elliot’s death. So far the reward money is up to a thousand dollars.

"I just hope they can find it in their heart or conscience to come forward with any information. Maybe they didn't mean for it to go as far as it did. Maybe they didn't mean for him to die, but we need closure," says Michelle McBee, Jeff's sister.

If you have any information about Jeffrey Shane Elliot’s death, you can call Sheriff's Investigator John Cummerall at 747-4700.
