Expect Hathaway Bridge Delays Monday

Vice President Dick Cheney will be coming to Bay County Monday, so you can expect some traffic delays during his arrival and departure.

A misleading sign at the foot of the Hathaway Bridge has many motorists believing the bridge will be closed for four hours between the hours of 4 p.m. and 8 p.m.

However, Bay County sheriff's deputies say there will be delays during those hours. They say the bridge will only be closed while the Vice President is actually crossing it.

Cheney is arriving at the Bay County International Airport and will then cross the bridge to attend a fundraiser at the Bay Point Marriott. Secret Service will be assisted by police throughout the visit.
