The vice president may or may not have gotten a glimpse of some of the handfuls of protestors along the motorcade route. The group set up shop at Carl Gray Park on the east side of the Hathaway Bridge.

They're affiliated with the John Kerry campaign. They were expressing their displeasure over the Bush Administration's policies regarding Iraq and the War on Terrorism.

They also criticized the president's economic platforms.

"We just wanted to let Dick Cheney, the Bush Administration and Bay County Republicans know that we are here. Bay County may be a Republican stronghold, but Florida still can go to the Democrats," says Democrat Jim Hamilton.

The majority of people lining the motorcade route were supporters of Vice President Cheney and President Bush.
