It took a local jury just 20 minutes to come back with a verdict for a man accused of having sex with a young girl. Chief Tim McGarry showed no emotion as jurors found him guilty of two counts of committing lewd and lascivious acts.

The girl was 12 when McGarry had sex with her a number of times in 2002. She took the witnesses stand Thursday, saying McGarry promised to marry her when she turned 18.

"I know the victim’s family is very pleased with the verdict, and is ready to go on with their lives and put this behind them," says Ashley Adams, Asst. State Attorney.

"We're very disappointed of course. We don't agree with the verdict, but the jury has spoken. There will be an appeal, so we hope it will come out for the best in the end," says Paul Komarak, McGarry's Attorney.

McGarry faces 20 to 45 years in prison. Sentencing is set for august. He's facing another trial for allegedly having sex with this young girl's older sister, during the same year. She was 15 at the time.
