Sixty-six-year-old flight instructor Jack Nyce and his 63-year-old student Robert Thomajan were killed when their twin engine Piper Aztec went down near Old River Road in Baker.

According to the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office, the fuselage crashed in a densely wooded area around 3:00 p.m. Monday afternoon.

Wreckage was scattered over a half-mile area. One witness says she didn't know what happened until a friend knocked on her door.

Authorities say there were bad thunderstorms in the area at the time, but they still don't have a definite cause for the crash.
