A Northwest Florida father is accused of shooting his daughter's boyfriend in the groin.
William Russell Kelly Jr. of Navarre was charged with aggravated battery with intent to cause bodily harm or disability. He was taken to Santa Rosa County Jail in Milton and released later in the day on $20,000 bond.
The 48-year-old Kelly told police he shot 29-year-old Randall Carter to protect his daughter. His 18-year-old daughter told police her father "hates" her boyfriend.
Carter suffered birdshot wounds in the groin area.
An investigation is ongoing.

@Balaroto I agree there's a double standard, but I hope you're joking about stereotyping Americans. The U.S. is nearly as large and diverse as Europe.

My, my, what a load of crotch shooting gun maniacs America must be. If it had been an eighteen year old man and a twenty-nine year old woman, I don't think very many people would have been as cavalier about the shooting, or as aggressively against the relationship. Let us prey.
