According to the Florida Highway Patrol, 18-year-old Jessica R. Darnall, of DeFuniak Springs, and her passenger, 16-year-old Janae F. Darnall were thrown from their car and died at the scene of a crash at 12:15 a.m. Sunday morning.

FHP says Jessica Darnall was driving a two door car when she pulled in front of two other cars that were traveling east on Highway 98 towards Destin.

Darnall was pulling out from County Road 395 when she hit 21-year-old Jesse Yon's car in the front left side.

Darnall's car spun around, ejecting both people before finally coming to a rest.

At that point, Yon's car hit the left side of Andros Nikolaidis's car. Yon and Nikolaidis did not receive serious injuries in the crash, but Yon's car was totaled.

Both Jessica Darnall and Janae Darnall were pronounced dead at the scene. Neither was wearing a seatbelt.
