The two men, along with several other homeless people, were living in a transient campsite in some woods just north of Harrison Ave and 15th Street.
Nolder was beaten to death with a hammer, then set on fire to cover up the crime.
Holzerwood's attorney argued another man named Ralph Woolam was actually the killer. Apparently the jury had enough doubts about the state's case to acquit Holzerwood.
Woolam is still missing and can't be found. Another suspect, Michael Freebarin, is in custody and is still waiting to face trial.
