Police are looking for a person or persons who may have started a fire that destroyed a Panama City Beach trailer.

An abandoned mobile home off of Laird Street in Panama City Beach went up in flames around 1:00 Monday afternoon. The blaze threatened the home next door, but firefighters were able to put a line in between the two structures before any damage was done.

Neighbors say they saw some people on mopeds driving around the trailer right before it went up in flames.

"Sometimes it's transients or just people looking at property, so it could be anything. The sheriff's office will be looking into that, see if there's anything to it," says Chief Fred Walker of the Thomas Drive Fire District.

The fire marshal is now investigating the fire and has not ruled out arson.
