What started out as a night of fun for a lot of people, turned deadly this morning at Beacon Hill near Port St. Joe.

Shortly after one this morning, Gulf County Sheriff's deputies responded to a house party at this home just off of tulip avenue in the Beacon Hill community.

When they arrived on scene, they found 21-year-old Connor Johnson and 19-year old Lee Pack lying on the ground with multiple stab wounds to the men's chests.

Both were rushed to Bay Medical Center. We're told Johnson was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Pack is still in critical condition at bay medical. We've learned he was stabbed twice in his torso trying to break up the fight.

Police say, this man, 20 year old Dustin Edward Roleson admitted to the stabbings.

Roleson claims the fight started after he accused Johnson of stealing his guitar. Roleson then allegedly pulled out a fixed blade hunting knife, stabbing both men.

Gulf County Sheriff Joe Nugent believes alcohol played a factor in this case.

"Best we can tell, they are high school friends. Pretty much friends. They've been together for a while. There was an altercation between Conner and Justin. We've gathered there were some allegations Justin made that Conner stole his guitar from his several months ago and escalated into a fight with Justin stealing Conner in the chest," Nugent said.

Authorities say Roleson tried to flee the scene after the stabbings, but a few party goers tackled him and held him until deputies arrived.

Roleson is charged with an open count of murder and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. He's being held without bond in Gulf County jail

Police are still questioning those involved.

If you have any information about the stabbings, please call the Gulf County Sheriff's Office at 227-1115 or Crime Stoppers at 785-TIPS.
