Several weeks back we told you about the Calendar girls of 30-A, a group of women inspired by the movie "Calendar Girls" posed tastefully nude for a calendar for breast cancer awareness.
Tuesday night the ladies presented a 16 thousand dollar check from the calendar sales to Sacred Heart's Olson Women's Diagnostic Center.
The hospital will use the money to help the underserved women in the community get the medical attention they need to treat and prevent breast cancer.
The calendar girls say they hope their small idea will make a big difference to women in need.
Kris Chavez is one of the featured calendar girls and says, "It sorts took on a life of its own and next thing we knew it was one event after another. The sales were going, going, going and we sold out of calendars and were able to give the sixteen thousand dollars that we raised. We had very generous support” Chavez says.
The girls are hoping to make a calendar each year.
