Testing began Tuesday and Bay District school officials say they are off to a good start. They haven't had too many absences for the third graders through tenth graders who take the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT).
Thursday, third and fourth graders will take a math section, while fifth graders are scheduled to be tested in reading.
Officials say the students have been working hard and the district is poised to get great results from the testing.
"The teachers are reporting the students are attending to the test, they're staying on task, they're working the full time, so they're feeling good about it," said FCAT program manager Jan Chapman.
