PANAMA CITY, FL---- Saturday morning's weather was great for a run and it's exactly what many people did up and down the streets of Panama City.

The 5K and half marathon kicked off at 8:30a.m. at the Panama City Marina.

The two races are being held for March of Dimes which supports local programs that help moms have healthy, full-term pregnancies.

The organizer of the inaugural event says the idea for the run came after participating in the April March of Dimes Walk. She says she's glad to be helping the March of Dime's cause even more with this additional fundraiser.

The April March of Dimes Walk will be held Saturday April 24th at McKenzie Park in Panama City.

Registration begins at 8a.m. and the walkers head out at 9.
