SOUTHPORT, FL----A Southport man, who is considered one of the pioneers of Bluegrass music, is being inducted this month into the Bluegrass Hall of Fame.

Meet Jim Williams also known as Big Jim.

Williams, who is also a pastor, has been playing stringed instruments since he has been 7-years-old.

He says Bluegrass has not just been a passion, but a way of life for him and his entire family.

Williams plays just about every stringed instrument out there and he makes them too.

Earlier this month Williams was officially inducted into the Bluegrass Hall of Fame for his work with the Lonesome Pine Fiddler's group back in the 1950'S.

He says he is still shocked at the prestigious award, "It surprised me because I didn't ever dream anything like that could happen, but I thank the good Lord for it."

Williams says as long as the Lord lets him live he never has plans to retire from his Bluegrass music.
