According to Springfield Police Chief Phillip Thorne, Willia Golden's initial injuries happened Thursday at 1003 Detroit Avenue, Apartment D.

Thorne says her parents brought her back to their home in the 800-block of Wilson Avenue in Panama City on Friday. We're told she was unconscious when she was taken to Bay Medical Center Saturday night.

NewsChannel 7 spoke with Golden's parents Sunday, who claim she had a heart attack due to blood sugar complications.

Thorne says health problems are an issue, but he doesn't know if that's the whole story. He tells us there are allegations of domestic violence against her boyfriend, and drugs could be involved.

Golden's parents say she is in critical condition, essentially brain-dead. They are praying for her, saying she was a good mother and daughter.

"She was a loving daughter because, you know, from when she was a baby, she stayed up under me a whole lot," said Willia's father, Cedric Lee Hampton. "Anything she could do to help anybody she would."

Panama City and Springfield Police Departments are jointly working the case to see if any criminal activity occurred.
