Man Gets Hit by Car After Stepping Out on the Check

It happened Sunday night at AJ's Seafood and Oyster Bar. Okaloosa sheriff's investigators say the unidentified man and two women ran up a $132 tab.

When it came time to pay the bill, all three got up and left. Security stopped the man, who claimed he was homeless and wasn't going to pay.

He apparently ran through the parking lot and onto Highway 98. That's when a car hit him.

The man is unconscious in a Pensacola hospital, but is expected to recover. When he does, authorities say he's facing several charges.
