When the Little Caesar's "Love Kitchen" truck rolled-up in the parking lot of the Panama City Rescue Mission Tuesday, it was a welcome sight.
The "Love Kitchen" travels around the country making pizzas for the needy. The truck supplied the ovens, and the local Little Caesar's franchise owner came up with the dough and toppings.
Chefs cooked about 60 pepperoni pizzas for rescue mission clients Tuesday. Rescue mission officials say every little bit helps, considering they averaged serving more than 600 meals a day a the height of the winter.
The Little Caesar's local franchisee says he's just happy to pitch-in.
"I'm a military veteran myself, so I hear there's a lot of veterans here at the shelter. So, I just want to make sure I give back when we can," said Little Caesar's franchisee Joe Giamportone.
This truck has put smiles on more than a few faces. It spent four months in New Orleans helping Hurricane Katrina victims.
