This year’s state Recreational Development Assistance Program, better known as the "Green Budget,” has $225,000 for Daffin Park and Frank Brown Park.
Part of the money will go to pave trails, build restrooms and provide security lighting for phase-three of Gayle's trails at Frank Brown Park. The Panama City Beach City Council members dedicated the beginning of the nature trail last year to give walkers, running and cyclists a place to enjoy the greenways.
The entire 20-mile trail should be completed by 2008. The trail is named after council member Gayle Oberst who was instrumental in getting the trail system started.
The rest of the money will go to renovate the baseball and softball fields and build new football and soccer fields at Daffin Park in Millville.
