New Air Force Radio System May Still Cause Problems For Homeowners

They may have trouble opening their electric garage doors. Or the doors may open on theor own.

The Air Force 96th Communications Group is once again testing a new land-mobile communications system.

When the system was tested several months ago Eglin had reports from people who were experiencing interference from the system with remote garage door openings and other type devices which are remotly controlled.

Eglin Air Force Base Fire, Police, Medical and flightline personnel will be using the new radio system.

Unfortunately, it operates on frequencies which sometimes interfere with residential remote controls for this like garage door openers.

If you live in the Okaloosa County area and you have any problems, you may call the Eglin A-F-B public Affairs Office at 850-882-3931.
