Another Personal Watercraft Accident in Destin

The latest happened Thursday afternoon. Authorities say 42-year-old Hope Densford was driving a personal watercraft with a tour group on Choctawhatchee Bay.

When a leader signaled the group to stop, they say she missed the signal. Densford then ran into another watercraft hitting her sister in-law, 42-year-old Denise Spivey.

Spivey was hospitalized with serious back injuries. This is the second serious accident on Destin waters this week. On Tuesday, 43-year-old Scott Sheffield of Catersville, Georgia suffered serious injuries when his 18-year-old son Scott ran into him.

It happened near the Jetties East Condominiums. Sheffield and Densford have been charged with reckless operation.
