This time of year you don't usually think about donating toys for area youngsters, but it's Christmas in July for one local charity organization. About 150 people teed off at the Lagoon Legends Golf Course in Bay Point Friday for local kids.

The annual Toys for Kids Golf Tournament usually raises nearly $30,000 for low-income youngsters in the area. A lucky raffle winner got the chance to score a hole-in-one for $1,000,000, another tried his hand at a 60' putt for $5,000 and came very close.

Toys for Kids spokesman Ken McVay says, "We spend all that money at Christmas buying larger ticket items for teenagers that wouldn't have anything".

Companies sponsor the tournament for $600 per four man team. This year 37 teams competed.
