New development is part of daily life especially on Panama City Beach. However, some Bay County residents would like their beach neighborhoods to stay condo-free. Beach homeowners and business owners got a second chance Saturday to see what development is scheduled for their neck of the woods.
The proposed Bay County zoning maps were on display at the Panama City Beach Senior Center. Several county staff members were also on hand to answer questions. What kind of building can go where is a hotly contested issue in Panama City Beach and ultimately effects property values.
Beach homeowner Brian Davidson says he concerned about, "Some environmentally protected conservation areas getting wiped out".
But with scores of developers are offering big bucks to those willing to sell their property much of the current proposed zoning could change. It's up to the Bay County Commission to decide what can go where.
