A local pre-school is using recess to teach. The Discovery Time Early Education Center just opened its new learning playground.
The teachers here hope the skills students learn in the classroom can be re-enforced outside. With help from Early Education and Care Incorporated the school built the cognitive learning playground.
It includes a paint center, a stage, and a place to play house and of course the traditional slides, swings, and sandbox.
Discovery Time owner Barbara Battles says they even added a, "Secret Garden where the children can plant different things and watch them grow".
