Coast Guard Rescues Injured Fisherman Near Panama City

The Coast Guard was notified that 44-year-old Charles Lewis had suffered a severe cut on his forearm from a fall aboard boat.

A Coast Guard jet crew was diverted from another mission to the boat and arrived on scene within ten minutes.

Due to the severity of the injury, the Coast Guard said it ordered a helicopter to airlift Lewis ashore.

Officials said Lewis was transported in stable condition to Baptist Hospital in Pensacola, Florida.
